Shipping & Delivery
Shipping Your Kitten: A Safe & Simple Process
We understand you have questions about shipping a kitten, and we want to assure you that their safety and comfort are our top priorities. We handle all travel arrangements, and the process is designed to be as stress-free as possible for your new kitten.
The Shipping Process
We make all the travel arrangements, shipping your kitten to your nearest major airport. For an additional fee, home delivery may be available depending on your location.
We only use airlines that have a dedicated Pet Safe Program for animal transport.
Once we’ve booked the flight, we’ll send you a detailed itinerary with all the flight times, schedules, and the pickup location at the airport.
On the day of travel, we personally take your kitten to the airport. After they’ve been checked in, you’ll receive a notification letting you know they are safely on their way.
Flights are typically 2 to 5 hours long. Your kitten will arrive the same day they are sent, usually within a few hours.
Kitten Comfort & Safety
Is it safe? Yes, it is very safe. Airlines follow strict procedures to ensure the well-being of all animals in their care. The plane’s cargo area is temperature-controlled and pressurized, just like the passenger cabin.
Will they be scared? While being alone in a crate may seem stressful, we take steps to make it comfortable. We provide a soft bed, a chew toy, and a cloth with our scent on it to help your kitten feel secure. Food and water are also taped to the crate with clear instructions for airline staff.
What about temperature? We only ship when temperatures are between 20°F and 85°F at both the departure and arrival airports to ensure your kitten’s safety. For added protection, some shippers use an electronic crate that can regulate the temperature.
Booking Your Kitten’s Travel Once your payment is confirmed, we’ll need to book the flight. We’ll ask you for your nearest major airport, your full name, address, and a phone number. Since we often book flights just a day in advance to monitor weather, it helps if you can provide a few days and times that work for you to pick up your kitten.
When you go to the airport, simply bring a valid photo ID and the airway bill number we provide. We will be anxiously awaiting your call to hear that your new family member has arrived safely!
We understand your concerns about shipping your new kitten.
It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous about shipping a kitten. We get a lot of questions about it—”Is it safe? Won’t they be scared? How long does it take?” We want to reassure you that we have many years of experience and prioritize your kitten’s safety above all else. Here’s a look at how we handle the process to ensure a smooth journey.
A Safe Journey for Your Kitten Your kitten’s journey is not as difficult as it might seem. Airlines treat the well-being of animals with great care, and we only use carriers with a Pet Safe Program. Your kitten travels in a temperature-controlled, pressurized area in the plane’s belly, maintained at a comfortable 70°F—the same as the passenger cabin. They are the last to be loaded onto the plane and the first to be taken off, minimizing their time on the tarmac.
Keeping Your Kitten Comfortable We do everything we can to make the crate a cozy space. Inside, your kitten will have a soft bed, a chew toy, and a cloth with our scent to make them feel secure. We also provide food and frozen water that thaws gradually, ensuring they stay hydrated during the flight.
Addressing Your Questions
What about the cold/heat? Shipping is safe in all seasons. During winter, we only ship if temperatures are above 20°F at both airports. In the summer, we’ll postpone shipping if it’s too hot. We will always choose the safest day and time for your kitten’s travel.
How long does it take? Most flights are only 2 to 5 hours, so your kitten will arrive the same day they depart. We provide you with the exact flight times and location so you know exactly when to expect them.
Your Role in the Process Once we have confirmed your payment, we will book your kitten’s flight. We just need a few details from you: your nearest major airport, a couple of available days and times for pickup, your home address, and your phone number. When you arrive at the airport, you’ll need two forms of ID and the airway bill number we provide. We look forward to hearing from you as soon as you have your new kitten safe in your arms!
